In response, ARB has established a benchmark for the design, testing, and selection of recovery points for 4WDers. Our range of recovery points specifically addresses the shortcomings of generic tow points and their unsuitability for various recovery scenarios.
Potential concerns such as uncertain and unproven attachment spots, ambiguity surrounding the appropriate choice of shackle and strap ratings, and the ineffectiveness of generic tow points in handling the force of a diagonal pull during recovery are all addressed by ARB through their specialized 'Recovery Train'. This series of vehicle-specific recovery points is designed to reliably support a 4.75t rated bow shackle and an 8000kg snatch strap for each individual customer's needs.
